Can you heal me? I answered: No I am not. You are. Nature, essential oils, healthy food, practitioners. They are all just supporting you to maintain your health or aiding you in healing. Ultimately, it's your body, your mind, your spirit - only you can really do it if you really want to.

I do detox packages. Within those treatments I use a large amount of hand picked essential oils aimed to help your body expell toxins more efficiently. I also use a special technique to activate your nerves, thus improving nerve flow into your organs and helping them perform better.

When people think about toxins, they generally think on a physical level. If there is one thing I learned there is no physical detox without the psychological / emotional detox.

Living in the city has helped me become more aware of toxins. They are everywhere. Air, water, genetically modified and non organic food, constant noise, clothes, detergents, TV-distrurbing scenes, violence... Then there are toxic people and toxic relationships, but above all... The biggest toxin, the one that has the most power over us is our thought.

Picture
Unfortunately, most of us grew up influenced and shaped by the society that constantly teaches us we are not good enough. Our parents: "Shame on you, why are you being so naughty?!", our neighbors trying to show us their son/daughter is better, our teachers always making sure to make us work harder in order to have better grades, become a better person, or a doctor or a lawer, or just to one day become "someone".
I grew up partially in the modern developed European country of Switzerland, partially in the communist non developed Yugoslavia and partially in the war thorn newly developing country of Croatia. Each country had a different system, but they all agreed on one thing: "you are not good enough". I was brought up to compliment others, but never myself as I might be accused of bragging.

So, you see, I believe that if we trully want to detox, we have to start with our thoughts. A thought has the power of creation, but also the power of destruction. We have to look deep inside ourselves, find that scared lost child yearning for approval gentleness and love and hug that child. Give it love and comfort it as you would your own child.

Within the imperfection of life and universe, everything is in perfect divine order and harmony and if you accept that order and yourself within it - you will see that you too are perfect just as you are. Within the eternity of universe you are a bright shiny star.

Aromatherapy.
Aroma-Therapy
Aroma- A scent, a smell. Without it, there would be no taste... And without taste life would be pretty bland.
Therapy - A process of medicating, healing your body or mind. As we live, we learn. As we learn more about life and our selves, we grow, we learn to heal.

Aroma-Therapy
How do these two words join in harmony?

Picture
Did you ever walk on the street (maybe you were angry or worried) and suddenly a fresh sweet aroma of vanilla seduces your nose?
It immediately takes you back.... you are five years old and your grandmother is preparing your favorite, delicious desert. With this memory, your heart warms up, your whole body suddenly becomes relaxed, you feel safe and for a moment there, you become that gentle loving child without a care in the world. As you carry on walking immersed into a beautiful feeling of a childhood memory, you walk past a trash can and a vile smell of spoilt yoghurt and rotten eggs cut through your loving memory like a sharp knife and you are immediately brought back into "reality" as it was for you on that day.

Picture
So while within Aromatherapy essential oils can also be absorbed through the skin, enter your bloodstream and therefore immediately be healing your organs and your physical body that way, the above mentioned example is how they can affect your mood, your emotions as well as your entire body whilst simply being inhaled.

Aroma- we take it for granted, but think about it for a minute:
What is the aroma of your childhood? What is the scent of your most loving memory?
Picture
Beautiful summer afternoons at my grandmothers are always brought back with June Linden flowers. A smell of tobacco mixed with a scent of fresh cement - that would be my hard working grandfather. Moist dark mud, freshly mowed lawn coated with dew, topped up by a distant smell of cow's excrement (believe it or not), that's the smell of my childhood period spent in Switzerland. When I think of my nursery school I smell linoleum floors, fresh paints, clay, markers and ripe apples. A scent of dry yellow grass, thirsty earth, helichrysum, joined with a salty see air with a touch of watermelon and ripe sweet homegrown tomatoes - that is August in Croatia.

Picture
I think about the city.... first that comes to mind is the grey subway smell of exhaust pipes and trains, mixed with garbage from the trash cans on the street...but then there is that beautiful aroma of freshly brewed cup of coffee, baked bread, sweet doughnuts, restaurants with all of the amazing aromas of freshly cooked food...and then there is that smell of clean sheets coming from all the laundromats and what about the flowers from the Deli's?

Picture
Aroma - it is a daily therapy in our everyday lives. How empty would our lives be without it, yet how much more can we enrich them if we choose to add some aroma and spice to our lives?

All it takes is some good will and a shift in our consciousness...We will only see the objects we choose to turn our eyes to.

Good will, consciousness, aroma, therapy, life... it is all a matter of choice.

<![CDATA[You Are An Individual]]>Mon, 15 Nov 2010 02:15:40 -0800http://lifetreearomatherapy.com/1/post/2010/11/you-are-an-individual.htmlWe are all individuals and should therefore be treated as such. This is one of the biggest reasons why people argue. Someone thinks a certain remedy is good for them and they use everything in their power to try and convince the other person that they should be using the same. It is the same with religion, but I am not going to get into that.
As we are all different we respond differently to different things.

Why is it better to take the individual approach?
Let''s take headache as an example: if you have a headache, rather than throwing a painkiller down your throat - which might eliminate the symptom but not the source, let's think about the source of the problem. Headaches may be caused by many factors, sometimes it will be for stress and tension reasons - where Lavender comes in very handy. In other cases it may be as a result of a neck injury or repetitive stress in which case (as well as suggesting a chiropractic treatment) I might want to use an oil or a mixture of oils that will help relax your muscles and work as a natural painkiller, like for example eucalyptus or wintergreen.

Another example: two people may show up both with stomach pain, but after consulting with them, I will realize that one person has problems at work which is most likely causing the upset stomach while the other is at the same time recovering from a bad break-up. I may use some of the same oils in a blend to treat their stomachache, but in addition I will use certain oils that will reduce the stress levels, like Lavender or Marjoram in the first case and certain other ones, like Rose to help the person in the second case recover from a broken heart.

LifeTree Tip of the Blog:

Immunity boost and cold & flu prevention
Put a drop of pure Tea Tree oil in a glass of water and gargle it once to twice a day. This will also help prevent or cure a gum infection or sore throat.
Key words for Tea Tree oil: A natural antibiotic
Side note: I even cured my own Strep-throat with Tea Tree]]>
